The Impact of a Paddle Raise

Over 300 people gathered at our 4th Annual Strike Out Events, raising over $1 million to fight Medical Financial Toxicity. The dollars raised will directly impact the lives of those who are battling cancer and trying to survive financially.

One single paddle raise of $1000 equated to the average of 6.2 families trying to keep their lights on this month while battling the rising cancer treatment costs. While many applicants have insurance, their monthly out-of-pocket medical expenses can range from $2,600 to $12,000.

In addition to the physical and emotional toll of cancer, patients must also consider the financial impacts of the disease. According to AARP The Magazine, the total cost of cancer treatment on average is $150,000

SabesWings continues to stand on our mission. We believe every single person battling cancer should not have to choose between everyday living expenses and medical costs.

Paddle raises, also known as Fund-a-Needs, have continued to make a significant impact on the direct needs of our applicants. Donors, we thank you!

Our community dares to dream, and on October 5th and 6th, we came together and made one more stride forward in ending MFT.

Thank you for believing that with us and for making it happen!

It takes us all.
