The Heartbeat of a Board!
SabesWings strives to develop a Board of Directors with like-minded goals and a propensity to help those who have seen the struggles of a cancer diagnosis. We look for compassion, heart, and motivation. We go through great measures to insure we will find commonality and team work in a select few who demonstrate and share our cause. In search of the ideal person, our journey took us only a few miles down the road, where we found two amazing individuals with the sheer determination to make a difference in the lives of others diagnosed with cancer.
Chad Rava was born to the land of this great community, following in the footsteps of his father and grandfather, sowing seeds of necessity in the soils of our earth. Bred of a cowboy tenacity and wrangled by the draw of a rodeo, Chad emerged as standout member of Paso Robles. His intellect and business acumen were equally matched by his partner in life and business. Lauren Rava emanates candor and carries herself with poise and posture. She is not afraid to get her hands dirty, thinks outside the box, balances life and work effortlessly. It is not unnatural to find Lauren immersed in the culture of their creations at Rava Wines. Together, this power couple has built an amazing venue born of the labor of their traditions and infused with the flavor of their grapes. Rava Wines is their dream and their legacy.
The combination of true grit, a dedicative spirit, and sincere elements of charisma would be enough to highlight the Rava’s. However, their journey to SabesWings came because of their own familiarity with cancer. There have been two times in Lauren’s life where she sat in front of an oncologist listening to a wife’s horror story. The words spewing out of his mouth can be overwhelming. A gut bomb. The room starts to spin. Life stops when you hear: You husband has cancer. Chad was diagnosed with two different forms of cancer at different times in their marriage. While Chad struggled through health scare after health care, Lauren lovingly supported him, their children, and their business. Together they rose out of the trenches of each diagnosis and poised themselves to give back because experiencing cancer once is scary but overcoming it twice is a Godsend.
Chad and Lauren carry a strong heart for SabesWings, a fighting spirit that can only be captured through experience. The dependability, reliability, and perseverance of The Rava’s are a gift to our organization.
