The Salas Family Car Show was created in 2025 with one goal in mind — to bring the community together to support local families facing cancer-related financial hardship.

After S.R. Salas was diagnosed with Stage IV cancer, the Salas Family experienced firsthand the emotional and financial challenges that often come with treatment. Wanting to turn their experience into something meaningful for others, they began searching for a way to give back locally.

That search led them to , a nonprofit organization that provides direct financial assistance to families in San Luis Obispo County battling cancer. SabesWings helps cover everyday essentials like mortgage payments, utility bills, rent, and other critical expenses so families can focus on treatment and healing.

With deep roots in the classic car community, the Salas Family decided to create a benefit car show to help raise funds and awareness for families in need. What started as a heartfelt community event quickly gained momentum and support throughout the Central Coast.

Following the success of the 2025 show, the event continues to grow in 2026 through a partnership with Cal-Coast Brew and support from Templeton Valley Farms.

The Salas Family Car Show is independently organized and operated by the Salas Family, with proceeds benefiting SabesWings and the local cancer families they serve.

Every dollar raised through this event goes directly toward helping local families navigate the financial burden of cancer.
